Thanks for checking the blog!  We have been excitedly working on projects to share with you during our Parent Open House Night (which will be a week from today from 6-7:30, or if you've already been to one for another child in another grade, 6:30-7:30)!  The students are hard at work at their very first persuasive paper (a big deal in 5th grade due to the DWA test!), and creating an organism packed with incredible specialized structures to survive on Planet Wakynabi!  :)  I am looking forward to seeing you there next week!!

Homework: 

1) Math: (3-1) p. 47 all, p. 48 odds.  Also, please redo low-scoring quizzes and the Unit 2 test that is going home today!  Finally, after sharing it with your parents (and redoing it if needed), please bring back your Unit 2 tests so we can put them in your portfolios!

2) Read 20 minutes and get it signed--remember that every day read must be signed!! 

3) Missing Work Reports: If you got a missing work report, you need to get it signed by your parents and return it tomorrow to earn Friday Fun!

Items of Business:

*Hoppy Taws: one of our PE teachers sells Hoppy Taws for $1.50 in the morning before school!  (exact change only!)
*Lunch Money: If you bring lunch money and put it in the box at the office, make sure it is labeled with your name, teacher, and grade in an envelope/bag!!

Upcoming Events:

*Friday, Oct. 5: Midterm progress reports going home!  Please make sure you look this over with your child!

*Thursday, October 11: (6:00-7:30 pm, or if you've been to another grade level's parent night for another child, 6:30-7:30) 5th Grade Parent Night!  Please mark your calendar, because you will be looking at your own child's work to learn more about our school and how you can help your child succeed!

*Monday, October 15: Picture day!

*Thur./Fri., Oct. 18 & 19: Fall break!  No school.

*Tuesday, October 23: Boxtops due

*Friday, October 26: Boxtop dress down day

*Friday, Oct. 26: End of 1st quarter!  Your pizza books goals must be reached to earn the pizza party!

*Wednesday, October 31: Halloween Parade at 9 am (from the elementary, to the Jr. High).  Halloween class party later in the afternoon!  :)  Click here for the donation/volunteer sign-up for the party, organized by our Room Parent!
