May 8, 2013

Just to give you a picture of some of the amazing things happening in Exhibition, I wanted to give everyone a snapshot of the actions being taken in my teacher-manager group right now:
*Posting conflict resolution tips around the school to help kids avoid conflict with friends
*Visiting a pharmacy to observe a pharmacist at work
*Creating friendship bracelets for kids in Cambodia to learn more about our culture
*Teaching stretching techniques before recess to help avoid sports injuries
*Sharing flyers to teach kids about how helpful anesthesia is
*Teaching a first grade class about some endangered reptiles
*Creating model buildings out of different substances (and testing their fire-resistance with the help of a fire marshall)
All of this is part of an incredible learning process in which students have spent hours questioning, researching, recording, and more!  I hope everyone has May 22nd saved to share in this wonderful experience!

Homework:
1) Math: "Math Review" packet
2) Language Arts: "John F. Kennedy" reading comprehension practice.
3) Read 20 minutes & turn in signed reading log!
4) If you didn't already, complete your How the World Works Assessment!  Click here for the rubric!  Remember, you can choose any format--an essay, a skit, a Prezi--but it needs to be neat and informative!
5) Missing work
