January 25, 2013

Today, we had one of our most difficult math lessons of the year: multiplying decimals!  However, we had several people absent, and a lot of us were still confused, so to make sure you stay caught up/remember over the weekend, I have taken the time to MAKE a video of me teaching it, and to find a video that has a visual way to think of it/a game!  Please be sure to check them out!

Also, remember that report cards went home today!  Please look over with your parents and let me know if you have any questions.  We are halfway through the year!  Let's make the last chapter of elementary school our best yet!

Homework:
1) Math:  Redo quizzes/tests!
2) Read 20 minutes (and every single day if your reading log grade is a little low to bring that up!)
3) Permission Slip: Be sure to turn in the permission slip to our field trip to Salt Lake (Jan. 31st to The Leonardo & Capitol), and a $5 donation if possible!
4) Missing work!!

Items of Business:

*Class Store: If you have any extra soda, candy, trinkets, jewelry, or toys that you would like to donate to class store, please send it with your child! We would like to do one more often to serve as a motivator for positive behavior!

*We would always welcome donations of gerbil food for our class pets!

Upcoming Events:

*Jan. 25: Report cards go home
*Jan. 25: Family movie night at 7 pm at the elementary.  There will be prizes, free admission, and concessions for sale!
*March 22nd: Arbor Day poster contest (our school has registered our grade already)!

(Still feeling Star Wars-y!) :)
